Antares Goa, Titlie & Mikey’s Place: 3 Best Restaurants in North Goa

Antares Goa: Restaurant & Beach Club

So even before going to Goa, I had a lot of buzz about Antares Restaurant & Beach Club, better known simply as Antares Goa. It  describes itself as “MODERN AUSTRALIAN WITH AN ASIAN INFLUENCE” . It is helmed by Sarah Todd who was of course a Masterchef Australia finalist. Her love for Indian food and culture is well known and she has put her heart and soul into this venture.

As we were celebrating a special occasion, we ended up for dinner there . The  Stunning location is of course the stretch over Vagator cliffs where many posh joints like Bo Tai , Titlie , Yaha etc are situated. The famous Thalassa was also in the same place but some time ago it moved to Siolim . As you can see in the video above, the Ambience of the restaurant is stunning and the music is very lively. You immediately feel you are in the party capital of India.  

The Views  over the Vagator Cliffs are breathtaking

Antares is known for its creative Cocktails like Plum Berry Martini & Tamarind Chilli Margarita. All the drinks we ordered were top notch and hit the spot. I thought the selection of foods, especially for vegetarians was quite limited. More Importantly, the Quality of food was very underwhelming. There wasn’t anything wrong with the taste, just that the wow factor expected from such a place was missing, the same food could be had in thousands of other places in Goa for a lot less. Lastly, the dessert that we ordered, Salted Caramel Gelato was mind blowing.

All in all, a mixed kind of outing with Great Location, Views, Ambience, Service & Dessert and very middling food….

2. Sun-Dried Tomato Arancini — ₹625: crisp rice bites with a rich tomato centre.
3. Jalapeño Hummus Canapés — ₹525: a spicy, shareable vegetarian bite.
4. Chicken BBQ Special — ₹515: smoky barbecue chicken for the table.
5. Mango Shrikhand Mille-Feuille — ₹525: a mango-and-shrikhand finish with pastry.

Titlie Culinary Bar

If you have food in only one place in Goa, let it be at Titlie

While the views from Titlie are stunning and I will let the pictures speak for themselves, the food at Titlie is some of the best I have ever had in India. This is the kind of Gastronomic Brilliance most celebrated Chefs & Restaurants aspire to but very few achieve. Each and evert dish we ordered was an explosion of myriad tasted in our mouths and to be honest I cannot imagine how any of them could be improved upon. It really is that good and then some…

Since Title is situated very close to Antares, the views from here also similarly stunning. The drinks we ordered here were very good too. The only drawback about this place was that I think they have some minimum cover charge of at least 3k or more after the evening which I think is ridiculous..

1. Chicken Skewers — ₹575: served with hot sauce and cucumber kimchi.
2. Banana-Leaf Steamed Snapper — ₹625: with Tom Kha Patrani and lemon.
3. Tawa Prawn — ₹675: paired with salsa verde.
4. Corn Ribs — ₹525: finished with white barbecue sauce.
5. Goan Chorizo Pizza — ₹675: a local twist on a classic pizza.

Discovering Mikey’s Place: Where Goa’s Heart Beats Warmest

Compared to the above 2 Glamorous places, Mikey’s Place in Candolim is a very down to earth place with very reasonable price. However, it still is a great place for a meal because the food here is fresh, the service is very efficient  and there is very good live music on most evenings. Tucked away in the vibrant lanes of Candolim, Mikey’s Place is more than just a restaurant—it’s a gathering spot that welcomes visitors with its relaxed atmosphere. From noon until the early morning hours, this beloved North Goa hangout serves up everything you’d want from a perfect Goan evening: fresh seafood, authentic local flavors, and live music that creates memorable experiences. Whether you’re craving Goan specialties or just looking for a place to unwind with a cold drink after a beach day, Mikey’s delivers that effortless coastal charm that keeps travelers coming back. It’s the kind of spot where strangers become friends over shared plates and the promise of “just one more song” before heading home.

The food took some time coming but when it did come we gulped it down in a short time..the variety on food on offer was extensive they had many types of Sizzlers which everybody seemed to be ordering..

Five North Goa Restaurants and Cafés for Live Music

For an evening with food and music, these North Goa spots publish live-music or live-entertainment programming. Schedules vary by day and season, so check with each venue before setting out. Menu prices below are indicative; taxes and service charges may apply.

1. Artjuna, Anjuna — its garden café hosts live gigs and other events. A mozzarella sandwich is about ₹273 per serving.
2. Saltamontes, Anjuna — a garden café with a live-music stage; Cream Mushroom Penne is about ₹400 per dish.
3. Hideaway, Vagator — intimate live performances and modern jazz in a laid-back bar setting. Hummus Platter: ₹350 per plate.
4. Café Cotinga, Anjuna — Wednesday evenings are known for live music in the garden. Allow around ₹1,800 for two for a meal.
5. Drift, Anjuna — the Westin’s restaurant and bar hosts live music and evening events. Potato Pave Fries: ₹550 per plate.

Prices and Practical Info – September 2026

Here are approximate prices as of September 2026 for the three restaurants in this post. Goa’s popular spots often add evening cover charges in peak season, so check when you book.

• Antares Restaurant and Beach Club, Vagator: About ₹3,000–5,000 for two with a drink each. The cliff-edge tables at sunset are the ones to book. They also have beachfront rooms at about ₹5,000–18,000 a night.
• Titlie, Vagator/Ozran: About ₹1,800–3,600 for two. From 4 pm there’s usually a cover charge of about ₹3,000, rising to about ₹4,000 late at night, which you can redeem against food and drinks.
• Mikey’s Place: About ₹1,000–1,800 for two, with relaxed, good-value Goan and continental food.
• For vegetarians: All three have good vegetarian choices, and North Goa has plenty of South Indian and North Indian vegetarian restaurants at about ₹150–400 per person.
• Getting there: Goa has two airports. Mopa (Manohar International, GOX) in the north is best for North Goa, and a taxi to Calangute, Anjuna or Vagator costs about ₹800–1,200. From Dabolim (GOI) in the south, North Goa is about ₹1,200–1,800 by taxi. Trains go to Madgaon, Karmali or Thivim.
• Getting around: Book taxis on the GoaMiles app for fair, metered-style fares. Scooters rent for about ₹300–500 a day; carry your licence and wear a helmet.
• Best time: Late November to mid-February is peak season, with pleasant weather and peak prices. The monsoon (June to September) is lush, quiet and cheap (my favourite!), but the sea is off-limits for swimming and some beach shacks close.
