If there is one restaurant which gets talked about a lot in Goa among visitors, I would say it is the Greek taverna Thalassa. Thalassa Goa is now in Siolim, in North Goa.

Started by Mariketty who hails from the beautiful island of Corfu,Greece ( Gerald Durrell anyone? ) it has a view to kill for, looking out into the Arabian Sea over the hills of vagator. And trust me, the food is as good as the view and while I have been there only during the daytime, I believe they have amazing greek dance performances in the evening.

I personally think the best time to go to this restaurant is just before sunset as you can watch the sun setting over the arabian sea.

Thalassa Goa has plenty of space for large groups — there is plenty of space, even for large groups but advance reservation is always recommended

If I had to list my top 3 restaurants in all of Goa, I would certainly include this one .

Cuisine: Continental, Goan, Seafood, North India

It is situated in Panjim and if there ever was a place which captured the Susegad and Ambience of Goa, it is this .

These menu-based suggestions suit a seafood-focused meal with a couple of Goan-style bites. Prices are approximate per dish and can vary by branch or dine-in versus delivery menu.

Sea Devil — about ₹680: prawns wrapped in bacon and grilled, a signature-style starter.
Masala Fried Calamari — about ₹520: calamari tossed with chilli and toddy-vinegar seasoning.
Potato Cafreal — about ₹330: crisp wedges with Goan cafreal masala, a vegetarian starter.
Prawns Chilli Fry — about ₹650: fresh prawns tossed with onion, tomato and green chilli.
Pork Chilli Fry — about ₹580: fried pork with onion and green chillies.

Prices and Practical Info – September 2026

Here are approximate prices as of September 2026, to go with the dish prices above.

Thalassa (now in Siolim): About ₹2,000–3,500 for two without alcohol, with most Greek dips and starters about ₹450–500. Book ahead for sunset, especially in peak season. They also run a boutique beach resort at Ashvem/Morjim, at about ₹9,000–15,000 a night.
The Fisherman’s Wharf (branches in Panjim, Calangute, Anjuna, Vagator and Cavelossim): About ₹1,800–2,100 for two. It’s good Goan seafood and has vegetarian options. The Panjim riverside branch is lovely in the evening.
Getting there: Goa has two airports. Mopa (Manohar International, GOX) in the north is best for North Goa, and a taxi to Calangute, Anjuna or Vagator costs about ₹800–1,200. From Dabolim (GOI) in the south, North Goa is about ₹1,200–1,800 by taxi. Trains go to Madgaon, Karmali or Thivim.
Getting around: Book taxis on the GoaMiles app for fair, metered-style fares. Scooters rent for about ₹300–500 a day; carry your licence and wear a helmet.
Best time: Late November to mid-February is peak season, with pleasant weather and peak prices. The monsoon (June to September) is lush, quiet and cheap (my favourite!), but the sea is off-limits for swimming and some beach shacks close.
